Disability Employment Services (DES)

The Disability Employment Services is a specialist program designed for helping people with a disability to find and maintain suitable work. It is funded by the Department, Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).


Our service is tailored to suit the individual needs of our clients. Depending upon the individual circumstances and eligibility of each client, we can offer assistance through either:
Employment Support Service for clients with a permanent disability who need  long-term, regular support in the workplace
or
Disability Management Service for clients with a disability, injury or health condition who are not expected to need long-term support in the workplace


The assistance you may access includes things such as:

  • Professional Resumes
  • Information on using the internet to find a job
  • Help with job applications, letters and selection criteria
  • Interview skills and preparation
  • Locating job opportunities
  • Referrals to Vacancies
  • Support and mentoring when placed into a job
  • Access to training, licences/qualifications
  • Assistance to access information and support for workplace changes
  • Access to Work Experience Assessment
  • Referral to appropriate interventions
  • Counselling
